Point Breeze: This Week In The News – “Kill a Cop Save a Life” Graffiti, Homes Recovering From Arson

In case you missed it, we found a few places where people were talking about things happening in Point Breeze:

Vandals Spray-Paint ‘Kill a Cop’ Graffiti on Pillars in Point Breeze: Police are investigating the vandalism of three pillars at 25th and Tasker streets. The phrase “Kill a Cop Save a Life” was spray painted onto the pillars on Monday evening. According to Philadelphia Magazine, police are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the vandal’s arrest. (via NBC10 Philadelphia)

What’s happened since Ori Feibush’s Point Breeze block went up in flames: This past May, seven homes being built at 20th and Wharton streets were damaged, and some even destroyed, by a fire. While an investigation into the arson is ongoing, Feibush remains focused on rebuilding the damaged houses. (via Billy Penn)

PDAC Starting a New Program: The 17th Police District Advisory Council (PDAC) is launching a new program called Books and Badges. Officers will be reading to children at various locations throughout Point Breeze. (via East Point Breeze Neighbors)
